The IHF is committed to developing and promoting handball all around the world. The IHF was officially founded on 11 July 1946. As of 1997, 159 federations were affiliated to the IHF. Now, handball is played in 167 countries and there are 19 million players in 795,000 teams. European Handball Federation The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the European organisation that regulates handball on a professional level in addition to periodically holding competitions and events. It is one of the five continental organisations that make up the International Handball Federation.
